SHAKEDOWN CRUISE a short story by John Gierach

Lately I've been doin' much more trout lookin' than fly fishing, due to warmer temps.

Instead of watching the idiot box at night. I began rereading the John Gierach books in my library. After all these years they still got it. Once I pick one up, tough to put down.

So I bought his new book, DUMB LUCK and the KINDNESS OF STRANGERS.

Many duckboats members have a passion for wooden boats, and many are also fly fisherfolks.

SHAKEDOWN CRUISE is without a doubt the best down to earth, soul stirring story I have read about wooden boats.

After I read it. I took a nice long pull on my drink, and out loud said some words I cannot write here. It is that ******* good.

I imagine that many others are doing some reading, to fend off Covid funk.

Gierach's book came out just in time.
