Canvasback Drake working decoys - coloring the back

Hello to all - hope everyone is staying safe!

With the approaching season, time to get repainting decoys.
My question - what is a good color/scheme on the back of Cans Drakes?
It's not pure white - wondering what you find successful?

considering dry brushing "elephant skin' or perhaps flat back..

I really appreciate some insight!
Good hunting this fall!

Titanium white to which a bit of raw umber is added. If you paint thickly, allow paint some time to set up, then comb. When dry, LIGHTLY dry brush the top of the area with carbon black. That should produce the can back result. Since sides are white, just use the titanium white and less raw umber. All the raw umber seems to do is tone down the glare of the white. Any more info,

I will be glad to forward you a copy of my paint schematic, which you can print.
