St. Lawerence Duck Boat - Removed the middle seat!

Well, I could not help myself. While I was sitting in the boat contemplating how I am going to do my Dodger. I thought screw it, I'm just going to cut this seat out, if I have to do a some glassing I'll just have to do some glassing hehe!

I am glad I cut it out, I don't really think it was offering much support. The wood and foam were completely water logged. Most of the wood was falling apart and wasn't even attached to the glass it just pulled out.

I think I am going cut it as flush as I can and then do a little sanding to smooth out the ruff edges. Any suggestions on what sand paper or tool I should used to smooth the edge out with?

So here we are!

Bold move! Sounds like a good one.

I would use 36 or 40 grit on a disc sander or angle grinder to do they heavy removal work. These grits will also prepare the remaining surfaces for new 'glass.

All the best,

SJS

Thanks Steve!

Ya, I really need to cut open the back seat as well but don't have time this year. I am sure it's water logged as well.

This is probably sacrilege but I'm thinking of just getting the inner hull from the back seat to the bow LineX'd. I have
a buddy who had a linex his Ford Ranger and buy the time he sold it there was no metal left in the box but you could still
stand in it HAHA!

I just don't have time to do all that glass work :(
