Video link. In the Barnegat Bay Tradition

I love that video.
I taped it several years ago and would watch it every year before utube.
I met Sam Hunt at the Tuckerton show. His boat was very heavy.
When I said to him that his boat was to heavy for my style of hunting.
There are days the tide drops and we need to drag the boat off the marsh.
He got mad and stated he built the boat to Float ''not drag'' and I should learn how to hunt. LOL

I did love the look of his boat.

There is so much waterfowling history that we need to pass on to the younger generation! I was blessed to have been raised duck hunting in Northern Michigan as a child, then South Carolina waterfowling in my 20's and 30's and even more blessed to have discovered Cajun waterfowling in S. Louisiana in my early 30's.. Each geographic region has a rich history and style of gunning waterfowl. I love it all!

Harry Shourds was at a DU dinner I was at about 25+ years ago in south Jersey and had given a decoy to auction off. Somers Headley passed away several years ago and his collection was sold. Sam Hunt not only made bad ass sneak boxes, but was also known as a bad ass dancer out in Piney bar.
