Epcot Quackers

Good morning, Carl~

I am guessing that EPCOT is so Covid-empty that you can rig there safely?

(I still wouldn't shoot the ones wearing sailor suits....)

Merry Christmas, indeed!

SJS

I remember going there with the family back in 2009. While eating lunch we were swarmed by "Greenheads" begging for food. I was totally delighted. My wife not so much. I was amazed at the amount of banded birds. It seemed like one in five birds had a band and made me wonder if Disney did any banding?

More ducks than I have seen up here!

I know that mottled ducks are banded every year in FL. Would not surprise me if Disney allows banding on the property since they are easy to catch birds. All you need is a little bit of bread and they'll follow you anywhere.

Steve, a friend was at Epcot for the Food and Wine festival about a month ago and she said that there were more people there doing constant cleaning than there were patrons of the park. It was very empty....sounded pretty good to me. I loved visiting the parks during very rainy days cuz no one would be there and it seemed like we had the park all to ourselves.

We went there for the Fall Food and Wine Festival as well. Surprisingly, there were more ducks around then than now. Back in late October, there I saw tons of mottled ducks and mallards all over the lake at Epcot. And some of the biggest bluegills and softshell turtles you would ever see.

Disney reduced capacity to 25%, masks required and you have to make reservations for the park you want to go to on any given day. The place is virtually empty compared to normal times. Lots of the shops are closed too. But still a good time. We bought 3-day Florida Resident passes, so it's a lot cheaper vs. regular price.

When we went to Disney for a week back in February 2015, there were ducks in about every pond and ditch on the park. Mostly ringnecks, coots and mottled ducks.

Its pretty darn empty but they still frown on hunting in the park!
