PFC Gun Cleaning Products

So about two years ago longtime forum member Kirk Sherbine sent me a box of gun cleaning supplies for me to try. Kirk is the owner of PFC and wanted me to try their products. After a couple seasons of using them I'm sold and convinced he has put together some of the best lubrication and protection available. Last night before Thomas headed back to Auburn we went to the shop to clean his shotgun (thank you Dani) and Thomas re-iterated, "This is the best gun cleaning stuff ever!" For years I had to stay on him to clean his shotgun. I don't have to do that anymore. He's really warmed up to the PFC products and for the first time ever keeps his gun clean without my prodding throughout the season. I've been hunting with my Fox a fair amount of this season and the protection has been outstanding. Not the slightest amount of rust has formed since switching from RemOil to PFC.

Thank you Kirk for the care package and if anyone wants to clean and protect your firearms then give PFC a try. I'm sold on it.

Eric. Im glad you posted about this. I am running low on some cleaning supplies myself and just placed an order with PFC.

Kirk was nice enough to send me a sample some years ago, Best . Stuff. Ever....!
I use it on guns, locks, marine equipment, pretty much anything that moves, or needs corrosion protection . I only have the PFC spray but it works everywhere. Turned a bunch of friends on to it. Only problem is no one around here stocks it that I've found, but it's available on a web search, just don't get from Amazon, very expensive from that vendor.
Thanks Kirk!

This post is very timely. Just got back from Chincoteague last night, and my Belgium A5 took a real beating in the muddy salt water. At some point, in the future, I will be looking for the best coating/treatment for it, as it is a tool, and takes a beating, so function over fashion! I just ordered up several of the PFC products to do a deep clean in a couple weeks. The wipe to keep in my bag, and the spray and oil for at home more thorough cleans.

Good info.
I can attest that if you hunt around brackish/saltwater, RemOil is very effective, learned that the hard way.

Thanks Eric and others... glad you like it!
We're starting to make some progress getting in stores, but it's a slow process. We just got in with a couple bigger distributors, and are probably in 50-100 mom and pop stores now, but we're making progress finally. We have earth and pine scented oil too, which gets us noticed by deer hunters. For now our internet sales are taking off. I'm hoping the other stuff catches up!

We also have a salt wash/neutralizer, mostly for marine usage and snow plows in the north, but I'm thinking of putting it in a small spray bottle as well for fishing reels and seaduck hunters. I was actually going to hit you guys up for some market research on that. Let me know if you want to test it out or if you have any opinions on that.

Speaking of RemOil... here's some independent testing we got done a few months ago. I sure as heck wouldn't want to trust your Super Fox to the ones on the right!!! Pretty much every oil we tested came out similar to those.

Kirk, how does the salt wash work? I would love something I could use at the end of the day, that I could spray everywhere (I have a synthetic stock, so not worried about wood soaking up anything) and leave it. Just wipe off the outside so I can handle it again the next day, and then at the end of the hunt tear down and clean. An A5 is not a gun I want to break down on the road! Too many small screws and need all the right tools.

What about something I could run through an outboard?

I got home last night and immediately filled a tub with water and ran the motor while I pulled out the decoys and other stuff. IT ran a good 10 or so minutes at a high idle. Kicked it forward and reverse a couple times. Washed the outside of the motor. Then trailered to the car wash and washed the trailer and outside of boat to get the mud, salt and weeds/slime off.

Anything to put in the tub to flow through the motor?

The best way to describe the Salt Cutter is it's a concentrated soap, that also neutralizes whatever salt molecules are leftover on the surface. Right now we only sell it in quarts, gallons, pails and drums, and also in hose sprayers.

It will definitely work in a tub to flush an outboard. That was it's original use before we started marketing it in the north to fight road salt.

For guns/reels, I was picturing it in a small bottle like a windex sprayer, and you'd simply spray your gun/reel, let it soak, rinse it good with water, and then oil it. I know it will work on external parts and barrels, "simple" actions like a SBE, etc. I'm not sure about a "complicated" action like an A5. I have the exact same gun as you so I know what you're talking about. I would assume it would work great though if you flush it out well enough. I can send you some if you want to try it.

Here's the info on it.: https://www.berkebileoil.com/...t-cutter-b-salt.html

Very nice to know about these products, especially from this forum, where you always get good info-unlike social media! Kirk, I have been in the auto parts business in the Philly area for around 35 years, and am very familiar with the 2+2 brand!

Kirk, are you shipping direct?, I found a guy on the internet and usually order 3 cans at a time, but don't know if I can find him again...and thanks again, PFC has replaced everything else I used to buy.

Yes, we're shipping direct. Here's the link: https://pfcoutdoors.com/shop/

We're in a few large distributors and just working on getting into stores. We're finally making progress in some of the big chains, etc. but that takes time. Molly's on the MD Eastern Shore sells and distributes us as well. We're in maybe 50-100 mom and pop stores, but that's growing daily.

Thanks guys!

Kirk--

Functionally, is this similar to CLP where one product serves as cleaner, lube, and protectant, or more similar to something like Remoil where I'd need something else to clean with?

Jeff-

It's designed as a lubricant where you clean with something else then use this as a lubricant/protectant.

We have a CLP product and an action cleaner almost ready to launch though.

Most guys though (like Eric above) use it as a CLP as it does dissolve dirt, powder residue, and grime.

A couple years ago Kirk sent me a can of PFC. Like you I have been very impressed with it. With upland guns that go from wet to dry and warm to bitterly cold conditions it takes a good lube to keep a gun running properly. I'm bad about cleaning as often as I should so I error on the side of putting on plenty of lube. That can be an issue in dusty and cold conditions. I have not noticed any poor cycling or light primer strikes in temps down to 10?f. It also doesn't seem to attract dust too badly, this can be an issue with a lot of lubes in some upland and field hunting situations.
A very good product for outdoor use.

I know that some wondered about the smell because it is lanolin based. Although it does have an odor I don't find it objectionable at all.

The soon to be launched cleaning product sound interesting. Can't wait to see what that is like.
