Ny 2021 Goose season change

Following the Atlantic flyway recommendations Ny will be going to 30/1 for the 2021 season due to increased harvest percentage. Hopefully this will help the AP birds breeding pair numbers and prevent a repeat of the closed season's of the 90's.

Not sure if it will affect the Sept resident season.

Kevin, are the Atlantic Flyway recommendations published somewhere?

I just read them on the DEC web site. It looks to affect west central, east central, Northeast Champlain and Hudson valley zones. I'm not sure about the southern zone or Long Island . I will learn more at our meeting in March

Kevin, I cannot locate it on the DEC website. Would you be willing post a link? I just read somewhere that they recommend reducing the mallard limit to 1 bird. I want to see if anything is said about that.

Just sign up for the E-mail,you'll get everything. I have not been informed on the mallard take for 21. the state of the Mallard pop. will be discussed at the March meeting. I have heard nothing that would indicate a change yet.
