Need Help IDing a Hybrid

I shot this in coastal zone in southern New Jersey last Friday, my original thought was that it was a mallard/black duck hybrid. The brown in the chest, big secondary feathers and green tail feathers threw me off though. After some googling it seems to closest resemble a Mexican duck/mallard mix, but that seems like its a stretch due to location. Any Ideas???

Black duck / mallard hybrid for sure. Very common to shoot in NJ, Mexican mallard not so much.

Here is one from this year. This is more typical of what I have seen in the last 35 years here in Jersey. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of park ducks around that interbreed with wild mallards from time to time. No telling on that duck of yours, but it's pretty cool looking.

My best guess would be same as Craigs, blk. / mallard hybrid. We get a lot of those on Sinepuxent bay area on E.S. of Md. Always suprises me though just 7 miles inland on Poc. River i,ve never killed one in all these years and many, many Blk. Ducks.

I usually shoot one or two a season, here's one that looks pretty similar from a couple years ago:
