Humboldt Bay Scull Boat

I picked up a Humboldt Bay scull boat. I believe it was built in California and made it's way to the east coast and I brought it back to the west coast, Washington State. It's getting some use in NW Washington targeting sea ducks, brant and odd ball hybrids that I can target in the bays. I broke my single sculling oar for it. I wanted to see if anyone on this site builds custom sculling oars or has a recomendation as to where I can purchase a replacement one?

Here's one supplier. Or you could build your own.

Good morning, Tony~

I have a scull boat in the shop right now - and another may be coming my way soon. I have never used one and don't know much about them. It seems they are indigenous to coastal Maine the Left Coast from northern California up through Washington.

Can you post a photo - or a bunch - of your vessel?

Thanks very much!

Hi Tony,

Are you ever down to the CA bay area? If so I can build you one, just bring me the broken one. Just pay for materials.

Great offer. Unfortunately I don't have any plans to head down your way anytime soon. I had been considering heading to N. Cali. for some spring spec shoots, but that didn't work. Changed my plans and am now trying to head to Arkansas for snows.

Thanks, Tony!

One more question: Do you have a weight to keep the bow down? If so, any idea how much it weighs? And how to you move it (if it's not fixed)?

All the best,
