Cam Latch Help

Alrighty, I asked earlier about camper help and these latches. I figured out what kind of latch I need for the front window that is kept down and through my searching it is called a cam latch. I called camping world as well as Coachman/Fleetwood. I also sent emails and pictures to both places. I was told parts are no longer available through the manufacturer because those campers are so old and no longer made. Camping world has been less than helpful and they can't find latches similar to what I have...even told me what is in the store (which here in tallahassee is a micro sized store) is all we have. I did some internet searching and McMaster-Carr has tons of latches but I don't know that I am reading the schematics and measurements to know for sure if I am looking at the correct thing. It does not need to lock, though if it does then okay.

McMaster-Carr

Here is a shot of the latch I am trying to replace (I actually need to replace two). If I could just get a replacement metal latch piece that would be fine by me. I can get new washers for where I need washers. But I don't know where to find something like that, or even know what to call it. If you look close on the picture that has the latch mostly put together, the metal piece actually has a protrusion on it so that it slides inside the plastic piece and will go only so far.

Soooooooooo with these measurements, is there anyone here that might be able to help me find what I need? If the measurements are not clear, or I need to measure something else that I didn't think of, that isn't a problem. Just let me know. I can buy a replacement latch or I would be happy with just the metal part of the latch. I just don't want this nasty, awful, crusty rusted thing on my camper.

Thanks a ton in advance for any help

Try: https://vintagetrailersupply.com/search.php?search_query=cam+latch

Otherwise, I wonder if someone could machine new latches??

Thanks Carl. I will do some looking through that website, as well as save that website.

And if it matters for this question, the camper is a 2004 Coachman Capri 25 QRB TT

Maybe something in the file cabinet type locks,
https://www.amazon.com/Defender-Security-9950-Different-Cabinet/dp/B0011G9TYA/ref=sr_1_40?dchild=1&keywords=file+cabinet+lock+kit&qid=1612407577&sr=8-40

Thanks. I'll look into those kind of locks....though these don't lock, they're just twisty knobs....but maybe the metal thingy might work

I might have a solution to my problem. These people make replacement locks for RVs so if anyone else ever needs to replace a cam lock or cam latch, these folk might be a good option.

locks ? INDUSTRIAL LOCK & HARDWARE (shoprvlocks.com)

They have multiple cam lengths and bends available, though my cam is longer than what they say they have on the website. I have an email in to see if my length could be specially produced, which is why I said I might have a solution to my problem.

Dani, is there a chance you could purchase the longest latch they have then mount a piece of material (say aluminum flat stock from a big box hardware store) to you camper structure that would catch the the cam?

I might be able to do something like that. I would need to look at the window frame to be sure. That is a good idea. Thanks!

Is there a forum of like minded camping people? Then find a group dedicated to your particular model and start asking questions. I have done this on a recent purchase and the help and knowledge on these item specific forums is immeasurable.
