No posts this morning, makes me wonder if power is out in a wide swath of the country. I hope everyone got through the tornadoes unhurt.

I'm good :).

You and me both. No nasty weather here, just froggy wet and warm. Went out for a critter viewing last night, peepers and wood frogs were so loud it was hard to hold a conversation. A few salamanders but not a herd.

We haven't gone looking for salamanders, but judging by the lack of squished herpatiles of other kinds on the road, I don't think I missed much. The past couple years we have had a dramatic increase in peepers and wood frogs in our swamp at home, which is nice. They are really cranking now.

Clamming tides coming up so my late winter / early spring hibernation is coming to an end. Feeling nice and hopeful lately. Hope it isn't unwarranted.

Family and friends in Alabama had some close calls last night but so far all are OK.
Same can't be said for others. 5 known fatalities so far and the number might grow as communities dig out from the 2nd round of tornadoes in the last 8 days.

Glad your family is safe Carl.

I?m ok. Just driving thru Wyoming and Nebraska snowstorms to see a bazillion cranes, dancing prairie chickens, crazy sharptails, long-billed curlews, trumpeter swans and other signs of spring.
