I'll bet your photos remind a lot of us of those unexpected successes - on days that did not have the adrenaline pumping from wind and seas - and maybe even snow.



Of course, strong weather and ducks was a connection mostly from my time on the coast (Great South Bay etc on Long Island). Nowadays - on small fresh waters in dairy country - we seldom encounter strong winds and most birds are taken on bluebird days. That seems to be OK at age 68.....(although I still love the sub-freezing late-season hunts the best).

Neat to see. You're way south. My inlaws are from the islands/ st Albans area. We gun up that way quite a bit still.
 
Whistler recipe consists of going into the meat bucket in the freezer and getting made into slim jims at the end of the season.
