Looks like the east coast is taking the brunt of this hurricane season.
Y'all please get prepared and then hunker down up there.
Not looking good for storm surge & heavy rainfall all through New England.

How long have you (and Dani?) been waiting for the tables to turn so you could warn us northerners?

Got gas today, lot of others with cans filling up too.

I have sausages to smoke tomorrow, which was what I did the day before Sandy hit us - got busy buttoning things up and over smoked them - won?t let that happen tomorrow.

Tod, I have to confess I am hoping for a southern New England direct hit so that maybe my northern and western Maine trout streams will finally get some rain. We are still in severe drought conditions except along the coast. Back the winds down so there is not too much damage, but PLEASE send that moisture north--and inland.

My VT friends say "not too far inland" as they have been getting all the rain Maine should have, plus their own.

Hunker down.

Oh Jeff....I cackled mightily when I saw it was headed for the northeast. Don't want y'all trashed but it is fun to share the wealth of water. this has been one of the wettest summers for parts of FL in decades. Hope your trout streams get a good drenching.

Now if only I can send a few tropical storms to the Prairies and PNW......

So far here in south central CT I'm underwhelmed. We have a backup generator attached to the 1000 gal propane tank, was hoping to use it. Maybe in another 4 hours when it's supposed to be bad. Heard it's worse in RI tho

Our forecast improved overnight with the storm tracking East. I have no doubt that we will have some issues here, though. Rain forecast is 6" and the wind is just picking up now.

I got my summer sausage done yesterday in amongst getting everything ready for the storm, so that was good.

Not much damage here, in CT 28 miles from RI. One of my sisters lives on Narragansett Bay in Wickford, RI, they got blasted. Lots of trees down but no structural damage to the house. The water came up 3-4 feet above normal high tide on their lawn, which has steep 10'+ bank to the bay. I imagine low lying beachfront areas in CT, RI, NY and MA are flooded.

Non-event here, still raining, but didn't loose power (yet). Other than the fact that we are cooped up inside with Beaver all is well.

I did see manchester, CT has some flooding, but in New haven area and in Westbrook it looks like just another day in March (minus the temp)

A few heavy showers here in central Maine. No wind to speak of. My mom farther south and on the coast had more rain and maybe 20-25 mph wind gusts. No damage I've heard of.
