My opener this morning

Nice! If you went home right now it would still be a worthwhile morning outdoors!!!

Who makes your O/U? I'm looking for one for both upland and waterfowl.

Yes it would, even better now that two Woodies joined the party.

The gun is an SKB Waterfowler Special.

The duck gods are with you, Dave. What a wonderful way to begin your season. Did you have your dog along?

Our season won't open until the 28th of this month. The good news is that it continues until January 31st.

I rounded out the morning with a goose
Had a pair swing in low and I dropped one, with a thud, in the grass behind me a ways back. Was able to pinpoint the location pretty good and no trouble finding it.
Picture of the boat as I was picking up decoys, 6 Mallard, 4 Teal, 2 Woodies and 6 goose decoys.

The decoy in the foreground is my good luck charm. [;)]

Do you hunt cornfields later on this fall and would she be with you then or is she still too young?

Looks like a great first day Dave. I bought a Waterfowler right before I got married. Sold it to a friend when the kids started showing up. Bought it back when my son was old enough to use it. He has worn out the trigger inertia block twice using it so much. Its a family favorite.
By the way..... nice looking decoys around that grass masterpiece.

Not a bad first day at all!!

Don't short stop all the birds this year.
