Steve's bow buck

Steve's bow buck

The interesting back story on this buck: Lewis sent me a pic of a buck that had come down the field edge toward his treestand but had gone below a hgh spot and never reappeared. I blew the picture up until it started to really blur the rack. The first deer had much longer brow tines and G-2s but was not as wide. It seemed a little heavier mass as well. When he sent me this pic I called him and we discussed the two sightings. He thinks this is another buck. He has seen five to seven bucks thus far. He called his son-in-law to have him get some experience tracking a blood trail since he has only shot one buck and Steve had to expend a couple of hours finding that deer for him. There are at least two nicer bucks seen from that stand thus far, with the chasing phase of the rut well underway. Way to go Mr. Lewis!!

Steve is learning the value of a resident son-in-law during deer season, as well as a neighbor's woodlot access road for removal from the field. Good exchange for some blood trail tracking training...
