South Bay Restoration. Parts from Steve Sanford
Wanted to share my South Bay haulover.

Here is the Boat after I picked it up. The motor board and thatch rails needed replacing. I got in touch with Steve to do some work for me and opted for a complete resoration Including new rails, motor board and mounting board, taller flap boards and an XL spray shield.

Below is the project completed after fresh paint. The old evinrude 15hp was replaced with a 2000's Yamaha 25hp 2 stroke.

And all grassed up.

Just wanted to thank you Steve for your attention to detail and hard work on these parts!

Looks good, May you enjoy the boat for many years to come.

Did you through bolt or screw the rails to the deck?

Ahh cool, Babylon here. I've had great luck with the battery powered "hockey puck" lights that you can stick up under the gunnel. I've also seen guys use the LED rope lights. Headlamps are great but when you can turn on under the deck lights to grab decoys etc it is a pleasure. There's a good variety of cheap ones at Harbor Freight and they last a good long time on batteries.
Good luck with the boat, I love mine. Ironic that they originated in Sayville.

Paul, I went with LED rope lights on starboard and port inside the cockpit, replacing the hockey pucks that were there. I will be sure to post pictures of the inside when im done with the little bit of work left. My buddy and I are just adding a few more stringers in the floor.

They were actually built a block away from where I live. Nice to have a gunning rig from my hometown!

Where you located? Got more pictures? I am always curious to compare South Bay's since it's only boat I ever rebuilt myself.
