It has been a while

It has been a while
Over two years ago I shared that my best friend, Jon Yenulonis passed away. The following spring I lost my original duck partner, my father. It has taken a while to regain interest in waterfowling. I haven?t been carving or hunting. I have been out a few times recently and am starting to regain some of the spark. Largely unsuccessful but enjoying my time on the water alone.

I want to wish my old friends here Merry Christmas and remind everyone to not take your friends and family for granted. You never know when you will have to face the world without them.

Kevin

It's great to hear from you but am sorry to hear about your father's passing. I just got back from a funeral for the father of one of my hunting partners. Makes you really think about mortality and what is really important in life. Jon is still missed here. We've lost some pillars of this little community in recent times and it makes me appreciate those who come to this community for friendship all the more.

Take care and hope to see you around.

Good to see you post again.
When my Pop passed away, I found solace in doing the things we enjoyed together, he was and avid hunters and fisherman too. I hope you do to.

Kevin,

May you and yours have a Merry Christmas.

The list is long of the waterfowling partners that were dear to me that have gone to the Happy Hunting Ground. We never forget them and carry them with us.

Just days ago my cousin that shared being a Goosehuntingaholic passed. Man could he call em in. Many a time while seeing two lone Canada's join up, he would say. "Two loners flying together." Gawd how that made me laugh, even to this day.

Like you the spark remains. Nothing like the fire that was with the gunning partners we had.

I wish you well, and welcome back.

Best regards
Vince
