Kansas end of season pre shooting time pics

A few pictures that my soon to be daughter in law took while my son and I were putting out decoys.Last weekend where I live in Kansas.Boat ramps frozen up so we had to drag the canoe over ice to open water and paddle through sheet ice to the blind. Quite a work out for a fella my age but very
enjoyable day.I hope you all had a great season.

Those photos tell a story. I especially like the canoe photos with the moon, planet and stars. Is that Venus?

Clinton, thank you so much for taking the time to create this post. It is truly spectacular and I am sure will pull on the heart strings of every duck hunter that sees them. Make sure you tell that wonderful young lady how much I loved her photos. I have been looking at those similar scenes since 1954 when I began my duck hunting career. I never tire from looking at them.

Wow....that young lady knows how to compose a picture. Pic #3 with decoys, canoe with paddler, old timer slogging thru the ice, plus the celestial standouts gives the viewer a treat.
After looking at her pictures, the next thing I knew, I put on a sweater, poured a big cup of coffee, and said " Brrrrr.........that looks pretty chilly".

Those pictures are spectacular! Thanks for sharing these, they really give us a window into our universe-the little one and the big one.

That is beautiful Clinton! Tell your daughter in law to be that she did a great job with the photos.

I will let her know Al.She is 22 years old and spent the first 20 years of her life as far south in Texas as you can go.So the cold made her very miserable but she stuck it out.Goldeneyes were the duck of the day with a few Mallards mixed in for good measure.
