NC duck hunters airplane crash

It looks like at least 4 teenaged duck hunters were killed yesterday in a plane crash, along with 4 others, in North Carolina. Reports say the boys had
finished a youth day duck hunt in Hyde County and were returning home to Carteret County.

The airplane they were in reported some type of trouble and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean about 4 miles east of Drum Inlet.

I'm seeing lots of Instagram and Facebook links asking for prayers for the families, and for the other students of the school where the 4 boys attended together.

We have a lot of folks from SC who hunt OBX / Mattamuskeet. It has hit close to home for many. I believe only one body has been recovered.

This is a tribute picture of the 4 young fellas who were on the plane. Absolutely gut wrenching.

UPDATE: The plane's fuselage was located on Wednesday, in about 50 ft of water, 3 miles offshore, and all 8 bodies have now been recovered. Still lots of news and Facebook posts about the 4 teenage boys and others who died.

Maybe the healing can begin, now.

Joe,
Thanks for posting this on our site. This is truly gut wrenching. I imagine those boys couldn't sleep the nights prior to going duck hunting via airplane. They could have driven around the Pamlico Sound like everyone else. But they were offered the treat of flying over the sound.

And then it ended like this.

So sad for everyone.

I attended the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston, SC yesterday. One vendor had made this tribute sign made in remembrance for those lost. Life is short, hunt more and hug your family a bit tighter every chance you get
