Trap gun recommendations

Been shooting trap using one of my hunting shotguns in our local fall trap league for many years. It is an 8 week season that along with a practice round or two, I'll typically shoot 500 or so shells a year and not looking to shoot any more than this. Anyhow looking at buying a trap specific gun preferable in a single shot. Looking at a Browning BT-99 for two reasons-I love browning guns and the BT-99 seems to be hands down the most recommended gun regardless of brand. Are there any others I should be considering in the under $1,500 range? Also what barrel length would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I shoot the BT-99. I have purchased the Briley Chokes for it. Usually shoot an IM and F from the 27yard line. My son took 1st place at districts with his BT-99. A great gun for shooting singles. If you stretch your spend some, you can get into some good O/U trap shotguns. This will give you an option for doubles. If you get a BT-99, just make sure you have someone help you fit it. Meaning adjust the cheak piece and have it lined up to the pupil of your eye. A good fitup is key to dusting those clays. Just remember, once you purchase a new shotgun, get in some range time and get used to it. The instictive shooters that seem to seldom miss spend a lot of time at the range.
