Maine 2021/22 photo dump... hope you enjoy.

[size 4] All the pics of Pearl are great, but the one in your coat is priceless. Looks like you both enjoyed a great year.

Looks like a great season Troy! I find it so hard to believe that Pearl is 10. You think she'll be hunting next year?

Thanks for posting those photos....

Great photo essay, as usual, and I must say you hunt some beautiful areas and capture amazing backdrops in your pictures. But what really stands out are all the smiles. Oh, the gun John is shooting I'd guess is a Model 1900. I wonder if he'll see this and let me know.

Troy, these are some "outstandingly different" photos...the iced-up e-Tec and icy flat tire change make me feel cold just sitting here at my computer. The decades-old cork decoys, other decoys carved/gifted by friends, introducing ladies to waterfowling, "dog-tired" dogs...these are way better things to remember than just the birds brought to hand. Thanks for posting! Dave

Very nice, I took a peek the other day, but I sat down and looked through these this morning. Fun stuff. Makes me think I should drag the boat to ME for one last eider hunt.

Hi Eric! The gun in the pic is my model 1894, but was built in the last year of manufacture, 1910. It has 32" damascas barrels and is damn near 12 pounds. I shoot low to moderate pressure smokeless powder loads out of, all of which I've loaded. It's my late season goldeneye gun, Full and Full. Its a neat gun and is, to me, one more piece of old time duck hunting. Right after building your own boat and carving your own decoys.

Good morning, Troy~

Wonderful images all around! I, too, must confess a partiality to that sea smoke photo - just amazing!

All the best,

SJS

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed. I'll try to get more scenery, decoy and dog images next season and less of the hero shots. Enjoy the off-season.

p.s. The Maine moose lottery just opened for those that put in.

Troy~ great pics see some hen eider. I am about 3/4 done painting my hen eider. I spent 3 days on a moose hunt zone 7.
Best: Bill

Hi Bill,

Would love to see the finished product. If you're ever in zone 7 again, look me up. 349 Quimby Pond Rd. Between Rangeley and Oquossoc.
