Good thing it is raining today.....

Ever had one of those days? I made the switch to an Apple Laptop from my old PC for various reasons. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to do something simple. Took about 2 hours of my time and soon realized the problem was me, not Apple.

Then I called a place to bring in my outboard to repair the skeg. I tried the online method of pounding on it with a buck and hammer and as sure as can be, the skeg had a small crack that finally broke off about an inch up. figure the motor will run fine with the skeg I have but was curious on the cost to fix it. Place I called was well versed in these older motors. Said around $120 to fix properly. Then said he needs the lower unit seperated from the motor head. figures. I just finished putting the whole motor back together after replacing the water pump and other items on the motor. Oh well, I'm a pro at doing this now. Should take me about 10 minutes to get the loer unit separated from the head.

Just did the Spring cleaning on the vehicles the past coupe of days and don't want to get them dirty with the current rain. Want to get at lease one day of driving a clean vehicle. It's been awhile.

Never a good day for me when it rains. Unless I can get out in my garage and turn a bowl. Otherwise, I usually end up on the computer and spend money. Today I did both.[huh]

Ordered some fishing electronics at $3100
Ordered some fishing equipment at $400+
Ordered a Lithium Battery 32 amp at $270
"Looked at" a container of reloading powder at $250

Must be time to get off the computer and go back to sanding on the bowl I turned. [cool]

Dang....maybe I should be happy I have to go to court today....it's raining here and supposed to be bad....wonder what kind of things I could buy if I weren't going to spend most of the day travelling

Hope the lower unit skeg fix is cheaper than they said...

I'll be happy if it is $120. Said it could be cheaper but we will see. The repair will involve some more straightening and then welding. We have had this motor since before time and have only had to replace the head gasket when plastic wrapped around the water intake and caused overheating. That was an easy part to replace and inexpensive.

Guy said it could cost less but gave me the high side estimate. He was the fourth place I called as others were either booked solid or very expensive
