I just saw a press release about some additional openings for hunting in a couple of Maine National Wildlife Refuges. At least so far, what we are seeing up here is not a huge amount of increased opportunity. But most of our refuge units already allowed a fair amount of access to hunters, so the changes may be more meaningful in other areas where that's less true.
I've considered trying to hunt the Plum Island Refuge when I go visit my sister who lives near there, but the complicated rules, which include walk-in only and boat-in only zones, combined with my lack of local knowledge, has made me reluctant to do so at least until after scoping things out in daylight.
