I have been on the list for a started pup from Tallgrass Kennels in Arkansas for a while now. I knew that it would be a while (I expected a year and a half to two years) so I got on early. I got notification that one of these little black boogers is mine! I am second pick for a male and there are three black males (my preference).

In 6-8 months I'll be picking him up!!! I have been thinking of names for quite a while now and I am leaning towards Mango....

Little does the pup know but he won the lottery getting you. A lot of fun times on the horizon for both of you. Congrats.

There are few things as exciting as getting a new pup, particularly a lab. And yes, I am proudly biased toward labs. Enjoy the wait and we'll all enjoy the pictures when he arrives and the dog stories that follow.

Thanks Troy! Starts tomorrow!!!! I saw my first swallowtailed kites yesterday ....they are always a bringer in of turkey season

That is good stuff right there. The feeling of having a new pup incoming is the best!

Mango?,,,,,,,,,, I thought you said you were getting a black one. [whistle] Congrats and enjoy the journey.

congrats, have fun and good luck on the turkeys. I saw a post from a retired Florida biologist friend and she bagged a dandy gobbler this morning.

Hey....everyone knows the black labs are the sweetest labs out there....only fitting to be named after one of the sweetest fruits out there

If y'all have any neat things to see or do in mid/southern AL or MS, I'd be open to exploring. I have mostly just driven through MS and spent very little time exploring AL so any thoughts????

Not totally decided. I have seen routes that go north west of mobile or north west of marianna fl. In general i drive I-10 often enough to pensacola that I am like eh...don't need to drive that. But I have not gone north of mobile. So i am open to going up there one way and coming back another.

Google tallahassee fl to monticello arkansas and look at the different routes. In general I lean towards the more northern routes mainly because I haven't been that way. But i am open to lotsa detours.
