Worth it?

Good morning, Noah~

Tough question to answer without knowing the condition - and your desire for these birds. I restore lots of old gunners - of numerous makes. However, I have not worked on any of these brands.

If you want the birds - and can figure out how to get them/some of them back in gunning condition - only you can decide.

If you can attach some photos, I could hazard a guess as the work involved in repair. As one example: I have replaced a bunch of bills over the years. It is quite a bit of work - and comes out well only with carving experience - especially if the head must be repaired on the body. Much easier - but still challenging - if the head is free.

Here is one example which may be useful - on some Brant stool:

Hope this helps!

Decoys Unlimited, Erie, PA ?

Photos would be very helpful. Rough shape cuz of mighty fine gunning decoys. Balsa bodies take a beating, heads are usually in pretty good condition.

Gotta see what they look like.

Yep, need to see pics to really give good advice.
What species?
What model Victors??

If I'm correct decoys unlimited are foamers made in Clinton IA well before bigfoots were a thing. They're flat bottom with a simple wood keel. D-9 Mallards, bluebills, and I think some teal. Seller agreed to $100, I'll see if I cant get a photo of them all.

The reason I know what decoys he has is a whole other story.

Agreed to meet at the sellers place a few weeks ago, around 35min one way.
Nobody was home, supposed to be an uncle there to take the cash but nope. Seller wouldn't call me and I was going to leave the cash and grab them but wanted confirmation both verbally and through text. Told me the uncle was 5 min away, I waited 20 then decided to google the seller. His mug shot from 5 years ago is front and center in news articles.
4 counts of meth with intent to distribute, 3 accounts of felony possession of a firearm, possession of the mary jane (illegal here).
I got the heck out dodge but I can't stop thinking about those decoys.
