First new post...First duck band

Well here's my attempt at the new forum. And a tid bit of good news.. I got my very first duck band on Saturday. It was a sweet Redhead drake, the info from the banding webpage says he was banded earlier this summer in Oregon. Considering I have always considered divers my favorites, and RH's are relatively scarce in Oregon I'm darn proud. I have a couple of goose bands now but this little RH drake ment a bit more. I shot my very first RH year before last and I had him stuffed and he's been flying down my wall ever since. Well my first RH as we speak is sporting a fancy new bracelet! I like it!! Now my first drake RH has two stories to tell.-Seth Freeman

Still waiting on my first band. Seems the guys I hunt with get the banded birds, but not me. I guess my time will come someday.

That's neat Seth, congrats. RHs are special to me also so a banded one would definately be cause for celibration.

Great Trophy! Banded divers are always special.
My only band came from a 10+ year old bluebill I shot my first season down here on Mobile Bay, haven't shot another banded bird since.
A couple of years ago a buddy of mine shot a banded RH drake from my boat. He was the first bird of the morning & came in as a single and I let him have the shot.
