No ocean here Shermie.I put ten pounds of salt in the bathtub and let it set there overnight.I jumped in after I got it out and got a nice tan, where I can't see it.;^)

How ever you got that gun brown it looks nice. The back yard Pee,the bath tub P, the bottle P. or the easy simple rustolum brown.

Well done Joe. That second coat looks to have come out Pee-fect.....er, I meant purfect!

It even makes the wood match the barrel better than the blue did. It's really got the Old Timey look to it now, nice job.

UPS came today & I'm all set to start doing some reloading now, I got me some more Pyrodex R/S for the 12 ga. brass shells and a 5# keg of that new Trail Boss powder for loading up some cowboy handgun loads.

Dave

Loading up the cowboy stff ought to keep you busy.Trail boss wasn't around when I was shooting SASS in 99.Are you planing to use Elsie on turkeys this spring? Thanks for the tip on heating and applying the browning.Much better, especially after working most of the blotches out of the medal.

I plan to take at least one turkey with the L.C. Smith during the season. Yesterday afternoon I had 3 longbeards, one Jake and 9 hens out in the whiteoaks. The Tom's were all strutting their stuff, but the hens seemed un-impressed with them.

I watched the gold prices spike over the weekend and decided to take some of our one ounce .999 pieces to my coin guy in Medford yesterday. He gave me $998 for each ounce. It was good timing because gold is falling straight back down again today. Besides, there is a two day gun show this weekend and who knows what I'll find hanging around outside watching the guys bring in stuff to sell..........that's where the deals are made on the good stuff.

That wood on your hammer gun is plenty good and If it was me I'd just shoot it and forget anymore work on it for now, hey.....it's a duck boat gun right?

Dave

Dave, good luck at the gun show.Never know what might show up.I guess you haven't heard back from Tom yet.I'll call you in a couple days.Just the OE pad and shooot it.

I always look forward to the local gun shows as there are good chances that something neat will show up.

I never did get an email back from Tom, I figure that if he does not have time to answer my email, he probably does not have time to talk to me on the phone either.

Dave

dave, you didn't get a reply or talk to him? My brother spoke with hm yesterday and I had him ask Tom and sounded as if he did. Let me know.
