Mike,

Victor and I thought you would like to see the pictures of the X-Mas Mergs. that wre shot over your decoy. The birds were taken in a farm pond in Selma, AL. The birds were a Christmas gift for me from the duck gods. I have been hunting a drake Merg. for about 5 years and have not been able to harvest one. I have had several to get away from me for one reason or another, they have always illuded me. These birds decoyed like they were on a string. It was a special hunt for me because my dad, who has only duck hunted for a couple of years, actually scouted these birds for the past month. He has known how bad I wanted a drake and he worked hard to find these birds for me. It was even more special to shoot these birds over a hand carved decoy, especially one that came all the way from The Yukon. I am thankful that Victor let me borrow it. I am also thankful for being able to draw first blood with this deke. I am even more thankful that I could share the experience with my dad. It was a wonderful Christmas gift to be able to take these birds.

Awesome! Glad you found the good ju ju in that block. They are such pretty birds I think. Thanks for taking the time to post all that.

I've been on the "road" for about 2 weeks and a bit and I have about 500 pictures to sift through, but be warned that I intend to show you guys a bunch of wintery vacation pictures. I just got back last night about midnight.

Mike
