Slow day today only 5 duckers, heres a couple photos of a raft of cans we floated into. took about 40 minutes to get to 60 yards then the jig was up the heavy pool waves from the south winds gave us away and they all got up. Was quite a site to see the line of cans stretched over 200 yards wide I would of guessed over 200 birds easily. The 2nd photo I saved in Hi-res and have for my nw background on the computer...... It was to be cloudy and SW wind at 23 today... WRONG SUNNY and SOUTH wind 20-25. Going to take some time off in the indian summer we have going and do some home stuff. Gordy needs a rest anyways.

That eagle about 2 minutes latter grabed a cripple duck off the water and had breakfast in the treeline.
Have a good week folks.

Dave,'nice pics----
hope you took a few home to dinner!
We are now in the throes of a noreaster developing----pretty invigorating nne wind this morning---left the rig out last night--getting lazy---fortunately, we moved most to reflect the morning weather ---managed a nice pure black, full plumed gaddie, and--get this---a triple on gwteal---one shot, no less---Gave Bill some extra water work, for sure---been playing with the hi speed steel 4's, and believe it or not, i would actually endorse the use of them--we have been STONING both passers and stoolers with the stuff----being a skeptic, i thought the wind would have a strange effect, but au contraire, they worked super---morning partner left with a mallard and another nice gaddie in his bag---off tomorrow for a young waterfowlers thing---bill and i get to be guides!! should be a hoot!
Glad to see G is getting in some quality time with his partner, fella!!

Sounds like you did real well today. Nice bag and a tripple thats just marvie. Im usein the Winchester Expert #2 2 3/4 loads as of late and they are working quite well. I think Thanksgiving will be motorcycle ride day instead of hunting to darn warm and bright out in the forecast.

Need to zero in the deerslayer also so that may be a good time to do sumthin different.

Keep up the good work.

Probably going to skip Thanksgiving Day---big noreaster lurking just south of us---winds mostly easterly on the digs, which is not conducive to decoying ducks---supposed to have some major tidal flooding, too---
guess i will play in the shop!

George, we are getting a who? what? when? suppose I should watch the weather more.

Cool stuff. Gotta love the cans.

It's gonna blow like hell outta the NE and might rain starting tomorrow night through friday.

Don't know if we'll get any precip on this side Bill.

How's the killin been for you George?

nor"easter----coastal low big wind today and tomorrow---some coastal flooding
-was out today with kids doing a hunt with young waterfowlers---Bill had a great time-kids shot well---one of them remarqued a teal on his last stooling duck--great fun and a super memory---great to go out with eager youngsters-best part was not carrying the gun, just calls and the dog! What a blast!
Bo, for me, tomorrow is a rest and recover day, also finish drying clothing---man, it DID rain!

Dave, things are perking up out this way---teal have finally arrived-good mix of sprig, widgeon, gaddies, blacks, etc., but, oddly, very few mallards so far--how are things out your way?
