O.K., what am I doing wrong?

Not that I ever post pictures much :^), but I have tried up-loading a photo both ways, INLINE and regular and when I preview the post...........NO PICTURE?????

Obviously I'm doing something wrong, any clues?

Dave

While your in the editor, (the window you type in) you'll see a little icon on the right top. Hold your mouse over it for a tool tip that says "Image" Click it and I think you can get it from there.

Dave if you also hold your tounge out a lil and to the left and squint with the right eye I find that helps a bit also.

You can DOET!

Wow, Andy you are a smart feller to figure that one out in the advanced editor. I figured most were using the basic but turns out a lot are using the advanced editor.

Do you get an error message during the upload?
Are you browsing to your picture?
Are you clicking upload attachement?
Do you repeat those two steps for each additional pic?
Do you then preview your post?
Do you see attachements as little icons at the bottom , assuming you didn't check inline?
If you did choose inline did you add the inline tags [inline filename.jpg]?

That about covers everything I can think of without standing over your shoulder.
Hope you get it working soon.

don't forget, you can't have file names with spaces in them. I had to change mine and get rid of the spaces before it would work.

Thanks Andy, but that did not work either. When I browse and up load the photo from my disc, it does not work like the old method did. I don't get the url like before where it says http/www:dhbp + the name of my photo and .jpg on the end. all I get is the name of my photo and that won't work by it's self and results in a red X where the photo sould be when I review it. I think I'll give Eric a call and have him walk me thru it step by step.

I think you gave a clue in your post, the red x. Sounds like you are trying to insert the old <img src > stuff. Won't work. Ignore the inline stuff for just a minute and just upload your pic with inline unchecked. Then submit, or preview, your post. Unless you get an error during the upload they are there as icons that you can click on to see the pic.

Hi Eric,

I'm not trying to use the <img src because it does not ask for it. I browse my photo on disc, pick one out (that is of the correct size), then hit upload and it loads o.k. but it's just a res X when I preview it, whether I use the INLINE or not.

Now here's what I see that is different from the old site: after I upload photo, the URL is STILL just the name I gave the photo when I put it on the disc, the uplaod URL has nothing in it that mentions dhbp like it used to when I would copy and paste it into my post.

So, instead of trying to figure where I'm going wrong, lets do the smart thing and you tell me "step by step" how to upload a photo using the new system. If that fails then I have a problem within my computer.

Also, is there a way to disable the "Send e-mail notification on reply" other than remembering to un-check it everytime? I'm getting tons of unneeded emails. I can find out who emailed me an answer when I look at my post on the forum. That is one feature that I miss, seeing at one glance who has responded to my post.

HELP!!!

Dave
