finally got a chance to get a picture with the correct species that came in to some of my decoys i've made. the first time it was some ringers.. straight to the ringers i made for the so wild fest. didn't get pictures of that pair. today i shot the finest merganser in all the land :) (is there such thing as a fine merganser?) This was locked feet out trying to hump my antiquee mergansers (thanks to jim daniel for the pattern). the bird is perfect and will be headed to blake as soon as he responds and tells me what i need to do! ;)

these are by far my two favorite decoys of all that i've made. simple as can be but effective

Tis the season for Mergansers. Congrats., I have been trying for years to get one and finally got one hunting over Yukon Mike's handcarved Merg. deke. It sure does make it special when they lock up on a hand carved block.

It might be a little while before he responds because to my knowledge he's in the hospital. something about his gallbladder I believe. but don't hold it to me.
