I found an old aluminum head mold in my workshop from the old EPS days and wondered...

If I can make paper mache Original Genuine Fake Impostor Corn Decoys why not a canvasback head? Slide1.JPG

painted with acrylics...I must have given away all of my glass eyes so I just painted 'em on

I think these are going to wear like wood, even the bills...we'll see...maybe I'll throw one outside and see how it takes a Michigan winter for a few months.

I understand our "tropical" winter is ending next week so I'll set one of these heads out on the deck until April and report back...I still have about 15 E. Allen GEs and monster buffy heads that sit up there on the shelf looking at me, asking, "When are you gonna make me a body??"

You know me Lou, I perform these little experiments to satisfy my engineering background from a left brain perspective...if I was intelligent (which I ain't) I would probably just quit trying to turn odds and ends into finished products...but hey I'm just a hobbyist

AND I will take this moment of attention to say again that Lou's E.Allen brand of decoy rocks And use the FTE paint...tough as nails

I still smile about hunting over 150+ or so E. Allens when the Michigan Out of Doors people filmed their Lake St. Clair hunt
 
Oh man Lee, if it were only as easy as you have it...two miles to the Indiana state line

I feel this...the Lions suck, Wings get beat, Pistons get beat and on top of it all I am the maximum MSU fan/alumni/"still paying for my kids there" guy

It is only right that I get some value from the Sports section and turn it into something I enjoy
