Hello, In response to the post below. For some reason I couldn't figure out how to reply to the original post so I'll do it this way. The rating of 15hp is due to the US Coast Guard formula that determains hp ratings. The low hp rating is mainly due to the transom width of just 36inches. It has nothing to do with the strength of the transom. If you go over 15hp you are not legal as far as the coast guard is concerned. That is why the new owners of TDB answered the way they did.
