Bonjour

I m planning to made next year ( begin it in 2007 ) a full north american duck collection, all species

I will made it in cocktail style , normaly it have 3.5 to 4 inches long, but for the collection i have 2 choise

the questions is what will be the most interesting to do ..

the first one is all bird have the same size likt 3.5 to 5 or
second choise , i keep the scale 1/4 for all bird . like the swan will be 7 inches and the bufflehead is 2.6 inches ..

i will have arround 89 birds to do ..

this is a example of a cocktail bird

thanks for your reply and idea

I think 1/4 scale would be the way to go. That will be an impressive group.

I agree with all above. A mini buff next to a mini black duck of the same size just wouldn't look right.

I can't wait to see your work.

Stef,

I'm with the guys...the proportional differences are what will really make the collection...I'd vote for a fixed scale rather than fixed size.

I will made it like 1/4 size ...... fot 89 birds .. shitttt luck of work next year hehehe

Did you knoe the value about a collection like that ..

I will made 3 in same time, like if i made the bufflehead drake, i will made 3 birds , one for each collection ... for be sure all will be the same

The first collection will be for my heritage .. ' yes yes , i begin to keep few pieces .. like all world title and this collection

The second one a full collection , the same , complete like the first one, estimated at 35000$USD

and the 3trd , i will sell each bird separaly, or by family .. like scaup, goldeneyes ...

I dont planning the time to made it ,,, but for sure, i cant touch it before next april ( i will only made the drawings .. ) . maybe take a year or over ..

if you want to reserved some bird it the time ... you can count arround 400$USD each, maybe more for the bigger bird

I made my best painting this summer with some pieces so i will put this technic on the new pieces ...

thanks for the input ..
