Positive Thinking/Cherry Pies

I did the last bit of scouting this afternoon with wife and dog. The weather and bird count is not what we were hoping for with the opener coming this Fri. in Al.

I am thinking positive that the birds in the area will be cooperative.

Most of all I'm looking forward to another season exploring old and new places with hunting partners that make the season complete.

Even if it does include a "death march" or two....into an undiscovered tupelo marsh full of gadwall, mallards and woodies without anyone else around...

I picked up the Merc 15 today after work and took Andrew to the doctor. Gee, who had more fun, you or I?

Joey and I are making final arrangements for Fri morn. Might leave extra extra early to get the blind and fend off squatters.

I don't think you will have any problems with squatters. If someone is there just tell them to move over your coming in the blind too as it's your time and materials $$$ they are standing in....

The water was REALLY up where I went today. I'll bet going against the current upriver my top speed was 15mph due to the volume and current. Coming home was a different story ;^)

Saw some birds, but hoped to see more, as always.

Joey and I discussed that very idea. If there's room we will pile in, permission not needed. If it's too crowded we'll tie off our boat and set decoys out. If they argue it's public then by god it's public and we'll hunt there too. Yep, there are no laws about who has rights to a blind nor are there laws about party separation distances. We can stand right next to them. No arguing, no cussing, we came to hunt.

RIGHT ON BROTHER !!! Hope you guys have a good hunt.

I bought some cherry pies for the Sat. hunt. I guess you will have to work on "changing your ways" for another time.
