I mostly hunted dove, as a kid. No one else in my family hunted. I went jump shooting for ducks once. After joining the Air Force, I traveled for about 8 to 10 months a year, as a C-130 pilot. I hunted deer and dove sporadically. I moved to Beale, to fly U-2's in Jan 1995, where I picked up a 2 month out, two month home schedule, until last Novembr. I did my first serious duck hunting last season, and now I'm hooked. I have a new job as a U-2 Instructor Pilot, in the 1st Recon Squadron. AKA "the school house"
What that means to me is that I get to stay home 10 months a year, for the first time in 11 years! More importantly, it means I'll be here for the entire waterfowl season. My dog, Rosie, and a couple of buds hunt on base. I have on blind, and another guys has another. I'm building a duck boat from carene cad and model cad home-drawn plans. So far it looks great.
I have two small pond/lakes that I plan on using the boat on.....
Oh by the way; Thanks, fellow taxpayers, for funding me while I fly the two coolest jets in the world: The Lockheed U-2S and the Northrup T-38A Talon! I sure would hate to get a real job ;->
