Chris Davis, 27 years old live with wife in Connecticut. I hunt just about anything but enjoy waterfowling the most. I have a 1 year old black lab. I am getting my first boat a 14' Aluminum Semi-V with 15hp Mariner. Thanks to this forum I am carving my own decoys. Funniest Story to date: I was introduced to Duck hunting by a fraterity brother in college. My second year out we took a couple of other Fraternity brothers, so we had to take two boats. Since I had been out before he handed me a shoving pole and we paired up. Well the stream was running pretty good that dark morning but in spots we were breaking skim ice. It was one of the coldest mornings for that year. I was standing in the back of this 10 foot john boat shoving pole in hand while we were in a fairly rapid section of the brook. I pushed that pole in the mud to shove off and it got stuck, instead of letting go I held on for life and before I knew it I was in the water soaked. The guys in the other boat stopped in fear that I was over my head but I was only in 4 foot water. After checking to see if I was all right they kept on going. Me and the fellow that was with me went back to my buddies house and found any warm camo clothing we could. I took a quick shower, and we got set up 2 minutes before legal time. By this time, now that I'm safe its a huge joke. I hear "Davis, we're gonna by you some camoflage swimmies for your arms" This went on all morning until I told them not to laugh so hard being that there's 3 people who could tell the story and I had 3 shell in my gun.
