I started duck hunting in the late 60's with my step-dad and got hooked. I could hardly wait to be able to shoot. Finally I was old enough to take the hunter safety test. The one and only test a kid wants to take other than his driving test. My first duck was a bull sprig I shot with my bolt action 20 gauge. I shot this gun until I turned 15 when I got a mossberg 500 12 gauge. I shot that gun until a few years ago when the thing finally gave up the ghost. I hunt the refuges here in CA, you can find me at Mendota most of the time. I just started to paint my own decoys and would like to try my hand at cutting up a few cork decoys. I have the "duck fever" and am lucky to have a wife and family that is understanding of this.
