Lunch, photo test...

Your gravity seems to be a little goofed up in Conneticut.
That much of anything with habanero scares me. I made habanero jelly for the county fair one year, didn't get a ribbon. I've always wondered why.

We rarely get habs to ripen as fully and in such abundance as this year - they are just redder than red and oh so sweet. I canned a gallon of habanero hot sauce and a gallon of Hungarian wax hot sauce (the stuff I'm eating was the partial jar that we didn't can to mellow). We have a half bushel of red ripe habs on the table that Jen picked ahead of last nights hard frost. I'm going to dry them and make powder. This was a great year for peppers, I made a pound of dried chipotle powder if that gives you an idea of the volume of red jalapenos that we had. We had an awesome garden year and more is coming every day. Love it. Got kraut on the list, had to take the cabbages out of the chiller to fit ducks and deer :).

is the photo not showing right now? It shows right on my laptop and the ipad. Fork at bottom.

Yes it's right now. I thought I had vertigo at first.

Our garden was spotty. Some stuff great, mostly things I watered a lot, others not so good.
Watch that pepper powder. Don't take a whiff in the processor until it all settles. [w00t]

We had our low points too, as always. There was a while it seemed like it was never going to get going. I know you love to hear this, but the early summer was too wet. :). Big winter squash and pumpkin failure - squash bugs.

I have to laugh about the pepper powder. The first time we made Chipotle powder, Gus was about 6 and me made it outside in the food processor. It was slow and cumbersome and we had to keep checking it, Gus was scarred by getting a couple serious whiffs. He still mentions it. This year, we got a new blender and WOW it grinds the peppers so completely and efficiently it is amazing. Little dust because the lid seals and it was done so quick - did it in the house.
