Australian Waterfowling

Something more on the duck hunting in Victoria, Australia. My friend, John Byers, the duck call maker and top waterfowler just sent me a link to a video. It was made by Brad Sanders, from North Carolina, who owns a decoy company. Brad is currently in Australia and hunted with John and several other hunters around Victoria. It is a good video, and clearly shows the excellent duck hunting them have down there. As I have mentioned, what I think is some of the best in the world. Hope I get the link ok: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v-IrUcfG4PgtA. If I have made a mistake with this let me know. Hope everyone is having an excellent summer. I am just back from three days of landlocked salmon fly fishing in Maine. Caught some and came away impressed with what a wonderful fish the landlocked is! Best, Worth Mathewson

Worth, a former mentee of mine, Brian Hiller, had the opportunity to hunt fowl in Oz a number of years ago.
He also made his own stool for the task, and had a good time with both the ducks and the decoys.
He now teaches in Wisconsin, has a lovely Aussie wife and a couple of cute kids, who are now probably in middle school.
If I have his e-mail, I will have him respond to your post.

George, Thanks for the message. I know him. In fact he was the one of told me about John Byers. And it was Brian who started John making decoys. During one of my trips down I had Brian make me a pinkeared decoy. Neat little duck! Best, Worth
