Al famously made his birds with flat keels - so they would sit upright when the tide ran out on mudflats. Plenty of Black Ducks shot over his birds with no water around them!
That tucked head - to my eye - is the real McCoy - as Great South Bay is a wintering area and our birds need to stay warm.
