What's on your WORKBENCH ? -April 2020

Brad

Thank you.

I've used Waterlox on several benches and like it. It protects the wood and can easily be re-applied down the road. No stripping, just clean and wipe on.

You have a very keen eye. Yes the vise is mounted for a lefty. But there is no other place for it unless I omitted a drawer on the other end of the bench. As far as I can tell the one operation that might be problematic is hand planing (I typically use my jointer). Since I'm right handed and work right to left the vise may crowd my right hip. Luckily I have a traditional bench built for a righty so if I have operations that are uncomfortable I'll use it instead. I think a lot of the things I use a vise for won't matter. Time will tell.

Eric,
One question for you, Can you come build me a man cave? [w00t][w00t]

You bowl turners have it made. You only require enough room for a lathe and a bandsaw. Will your wife let you have her side of the garage? [cool]

Eric,
She has parked in the drive during our entire marriage. No sense in giving her any crazy ideas about the usage of my storage shed which just happens to line up with the end of my driveway.

I just need insulation, finished ceiling and walls, heat, better lighting, more tools, additional equipment and a finishing room. I have the shell (roof and walls), just need the details. [whistle] Oh and if I threw out all the just plain junk I have in there, I'd 80% more work space.

This looks interesting New Nova Lathe

Man, you guys appear to require waaaaay too much equipment. I have a bandsaw, a foredom and a few handpieces., along with a reasonably new battery powered drill..[;)] Think Bauhaus!!!

Steve/Rooster, life shall not come to a halt. No problem.[;)]
The Barcino is now dressed. Not good drinking nekkid!

Bill, nice set of divers, for sure. You might want to alter the eider bills to more closely resemble the first one. The others are a mite gaudy.
Nice nup pose on the whistler!

Brad already mentioned it but if you are right handed you want the vise on the left side, and on the right if you are left handed. Since you obviously handy with hand tools go with a big ol' woodworkers vise, and put some dog holes in the top lined up with the vise.

Looking good! Keep it going.

Thanks Eric...
