Interesting thread since I am having the exact same problem with my COD. I've tried everything I know to do with it and cannot get it to sound anything like a goose. Zink's used to advertise on their site that you could mail it in and they would tune it and send it back. This is gone now. I emailed them quite a while ago to ask if they would still be willing to do this and received no response. It was a very expensive call and presently it is useless.

yes i have sent them back in the past. spoke with the corporate office last week and they were lost sounded like i threw them a curve ball you would think if you sold calls, you would fix them. I have sent calls back to Haydel's in the past to have them retuned and they are inexpensive calls go figure.

That's a pretty tough spot to be in.

Owning many calls, some of them custom calls. Not many call makers wanna mess with other makers work, has been my experience.

It maybe worth a shot to contact a Call Collectors organization for advise and help.

IMO Haydel's make a damn fine call, and stand behind their work. Have never been disappointed in their calls, or their service.

I don't how much you have tried to move the reed and keeper but it doesn't
take much to get it into or out of tune. Watch a couple of You Tube videos and
keep fiddiling with it. When you get frustrated with it put down for a few days
or weeks and go back and give it another try. Good Luck

There are some tutorials on the web of how to tune a short reed. If you need a new reed those can probably be purchased.

Why get a low profile boat and put a high profile blind on it?
