When you use zip ties can you remove them or do you just cut them off and sand flat

I am wondering what size wood is needed to supPort/float silos cut from 1/4 plywood? I also have a lot of 1in and 3/4 in PVC. If that was filled with foam and capped would that supply enough flotation?

I will be starting my Devlin bluebill build as soon as the snow leaves but I have a couple of questions about modifications. Is it difficult to add a couple of inches (possibly 2") to the side walls to allow more room for my feet and storage? Will this compromise the low profile?
