What?s in your bag? November 2020

The biggest thing is perseverance. Sounds like you're doing pretty good. Have you thought about hiring a coach who could maybe help? Might be worth it next summer. Maybe they could help you through any problems you might be stuck on with a bunch of clays. Just on a side note I have...

    Boat build recommendations

I want to do a boat build for myself and a dog. 10' max length and sub 100lbs if it's possible. Preferably with a motor mount for a trolling motor sometimes. Something low profile and as stable as possible. Any suggestions? Thanks

    20 gauge duck loads

Mind you I have very little waterfowl experience but as long as the patterns are satisfactory there shouldn't be a problem. 1oz of pellets out of a 20 ga at 1400fps are going to kill the same as 1oz of shot out of a 12 ga at 1400fps.

    Glue for foam boat build?

Thanks for the pics. Yeah, the gorilla glue definitely works even if they don't recommend it. I have mine glued right now. I ended up using the loctite polyurethane glue in a tube. It was only $8 for a 28 oz. tube and dries nice with some moisture added. How long is your boat and what...

Wood keel/gunnel protection On marsh skiff

How about the purpose built glue on keel guards? Otherwise the aluminum is a good idea. Or some sort of heavy duty plastic.

    Repairing cork decoys

I should say I have no experience with cork of any kind but have repaired misc. wood projects and furniture. Sometimes you just have to get creative.

    Repairing cork decoys

Inject or force waterproof glue or wood fillers into the cracks or expanding foam into larger voids and sand too contour? Obviously being careful that you don't make any separations worse with the expanding foam. That stuff is amazingly sticky.

    Glue for foam boat build?

So I grabbed some titebond polyurethane glue, same as gorilla but only a dollar more for 8 oz vs 4 oz of gorilla, and tested it. On one piece I didn't add any moisture but the other I did. The piece without moisture was cured around the edges but not on the inside and was actually still very...

    Glue for foam boat build?

Looks good. How thick did you apply it? How much on the entire boat? Thanks

    Glue for foam boat build?

Here's a video of one version. Of course the possibilities are endless and mine isn't going to be too much like this. I'm not using wood in mine except for the transom for mounting a trolling motor. Google "foam duck boat build" and you should get some other versions. Making layout boats is...

Built a home bird plucker and processing station

That's great! I just started duck hunting but was already saying I need a cleaning station. That plucker looks like it does a great job too and is my main desire.
