Once we get the cover off, and get it out into the sunlight, I will put up some pics. The guy who is redoing the boat with is considerably older than I am and he knew Hy Dahlka. He has some great stories from times with him. Thanks for everybodys help so far.
A pal and I are going to rehab an 18' Pecor Fox sneak boat that we bought a few years ago. We've stored it covered and dry since we got it. The boat was glassed over the wood on the outside of the hug before we got it, but some of the glass is loose and peeling, so we want to do what it best to...
I have an old herters call that has odd guts, they are more or less two slots with and offset tube which connects them. Seems to be a drake mallard call/pintail call/teal whistle. It has a wood barrel but the tone end is plastic, as are the guts. No name or model # other than herters generic...
Avoid longline clips if you can, they are just a breeding ground for problems. There are a few ways to rig the dekes on the mainline and never take them off. That is much quicker, as one guy can do it-out of my sneakbox I run five or six ten bird lines alone. Just search out lou tisch and his...
I'd say $10 a bird would be a bottom on decent 72s from what I've seen em sell for lately. Sometimes even the 63s are close to that. Seems most people willing to pay are paying for cans better than others. Last batch of foam birds I bought were very nice Restles, and I paid $10 a piece for them...
Looking for the above boat in serviceable condition, I am in Northern Ohio. Let me know if you have one to sell. Looking to get one for a layout marsh boat for the kid, as he can't stand in the cold water as long as I can. Thanks.
Parkers duckboat paint or Petit Dull Dead Grass paint is my way of dipping a gun. Those paints last for a long time and keep the elements off the metal. And if they get scratched off or you want a different look, just get out the brush and paint em again. I usually have leftovers from painting...
Contemplated doing something with a sail on my bbsb. Now that I see all the work invovled, I am not even thinking of it anymore! But thanks for showing a neat project.
My only issue with them is that they are not decked over, so they won't be so warm or concealable. Still looking for a Carstens Puddler, unless I build a kit boat.
