I believe the transition from wood to plastic (tenite) was in the early 50's, first with plastic heads and balsa bodies to all plastic. Probably a lot of mixing too til all the balsa was used up. And the paint schemes I'm sure was the same too. I always looked forward to the new catalog. Bought...

my guess is a early Herters, probably from the 40's. And the body is light wt. balsa....

I just made a final resting place for a friends lab. The ashes were very heavy but he wanted to hunt with all of Thunder so I made a pair of black ducks for him. They are still quite heavy but should sit just fine in the water, maybe a tad lower...........

Reneson certainly puts you into the middle of the action. Did you ever notice in many if not all of Reneson's paintings the pencil drawings still in the print from his initial rough draft ?

I worked at our state's waterfowl hatchery years ago and if memory serves, that little ball of yellow fluff will turn out all white. That doesn't mean it's an albino, just a white mallard...........

Dave......something I started using this year is winter golf gloves. They come as a pair and so far have worked very well with temps into the 30's. They aren't waterproof but for sitting in the blind and then shooting with them on, they've worked great. No problems like those trying to shoot...
