hi to all nebie with first build

Looks like a Grady 20 Overnighter. A very good hull. I hope you realize you may be opening Pandora's Box. In the time it takes you to get that boat sea shape, you could build a 20' skiff from scratch. It might even cost less, especially the motor. Something like the Nexus Dory:

    new skiff

Making a mould is no small feat. You'd be better of simply taking off the lines to record the shape, so you can reproduce it. Would not be as hard as it sounds.

    Fiberglass help

It would help to see a picture of the damage, from both sides. Prepping for the repair can be largely dictated by the nature of the damage. Epoxy is generally the best resin for building and repair, but if the boat is out of the water most of the time, polyester resin can work just fine, too...

Good outboard mechanic needed, central NJ area

A close friend has an 80's vintage Merc 150 on his Grady that has started to run erratically. He is looking for an experienced mechanic to give it a good tune-up and address any issues it may have. The boat is currently in a slip at the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina, but he will be towing...

    Gatorboats still selling plans?

Here are some thoughts on that meranti, from the forums at that site: http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4986 (sorry, you have to copy and paste that -- I can't get the hyperlink button to work). IMHO, while that boat is very cool, judging from the lines drawing it will take twice...

    Jump Shooting!

"So, I'm standing in my back yard, with my back to the road, I've got 4 of the 5 plucked all ready, and I hear a female voice, calling, "excuse me, excuse me, Sir"....So I turn around with the partially plucked bird in hand, hands covered in blood, and I see 2 obviously city girls standing 20...

    Best Opener ever!

I hope you frame that picture of the two of you. The grandkids will one day be impressed. It's really good that you're passing this knowledge and these skills on to her. Too many of today's kids think meat comes from a plastic package and would be lost without their I-phone and a big-screen TV...
