Look at the Kara Robber. It may be a little bigger than you want. Ed Askew built a full size Kara (13.5') that weighed 80#. I bet you could built a Kara Robber under 70#.

Make sure that you grind /sand the surface down to the fiberglass. If you place the repair over any gelcoat, it won't hold. I used a 36 grit disc for my repairs.

I'm restoring a fiberglass boat that has a foam core piece sandwiched in the cockpit. Unfortunately the foam is soaked with water. What is the best way to repair it? Should I cut it out from inside the cockpit and then sandwich in a new piece? (Thanks in advance.)

I want to place a transom for a mudbuddy on a Kara. I saw some other set ups, but I'd like to place the transom 18-24" forward from the aft end. Would a transom at this position with the rest of the tail end remaining as per the plans work? I figure that the 5' tail on the mudbuddy would have...
