    Art, 1/4" thick aluminum. The mount seems to work ok with the small electric trolling motor I have. I also have this picture. Not sure where I got it.. but pretty sure these are original oars and motor mount.

    Here's what I did. Aluminum with oak blocks. I have a .pdf from Alumacraft with a detailed drawing. I guess it orginally cost $15 and $6.50 to install... :-)

    AlumaCraft was kind enough to send me some info. $210 retail. I'm not sure what $210 was in late 1940's... but I'm guessing not many welding instructors could afford it.
